Complaints

It is the right of older people and their representatives to give feedback, comment or make a complaint about an advocacy agency.

The advocacy agencies

• encourage this feedback in order to continually improve the quality of their service
• are committed to acting promptly and efficiently to each complaint received
• have a complaints policy (refer to the agency in your State which details the steps available to consumers of that agency

If older people or their representatives choose to bypass complaining directly to the service, they can go straight to the Department of Health and Aged Care in their state.
