Information

Advocacy agencies are funded to provide information about the aged care sector as it relates to consumer protections. The delivery of information has evolved in response to consumer-driven need for accurate, timely information about their entitlements and consumer protections under the Aged Care legislation.

In a sector renowned for its complexity, this specialised delivery of information is a value-added component that the Residential Aged Care Advocacy Services Program delivers with accuracy and ease by virtue of its advocacy work.

The agencies recognise the importance of remaining focused on the delivery of their specialised information area, and refer general information queries to a number of other agencies including government phone lines, seniors information lines and other state based agencies.

Goal

To provide accurate and timely information to all consumers of aged care services and key intermediaries about the aged care sector as it affects them, and to ensure they are aware of existing consumer protections.
